Dr. Hyung Dong Park is the founder and music director of NAMO. He used to be a medical missionary in Tanzania for 10 years as a surgeon in 1990s. He brings together music and medicine, and has been actively involved in this pursuit throughout his life. Dr. Park established another orchestra in Dominican Republic this year with the Exile musicians from Venezuela and named it as World Grace Mission Orchestra. In 2018 he participated in the concerts of World Doctors Orchestra in Dubai and World Civic Orchestra in New York as a violin player. He has been taking steady conducting lesson from notable professional conductors and professors in NY.
He partipated London Classical Soloist Conducting Masterclass in 2017, LA Conducting Workshop and Competition in August 2019. Constant learning process throughout life is one of his attitude and passion toward the music.
He still works as a physician and resides in NJ. One of his goal is to bring Classical Music and Physicians in Africa with NAMO. All participants will share their medical skill, musical talent, passion and love with people in Africa.
